An important message from Nancy Lala, Board Chair, Kerry’s Place Autism Services

CEO Announcement

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan VanDeVelde-Coke (“Sue”) to the position of President and CEO of Kerry’s Place Autism Services.

Sue joins us with a wealth of experience in the health care sector, with a primary focus in health care administration, serving as Executive Vice President, Programs/Chief Health Professions & Nursing Executive at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, as well as VP Strategic Planning & Operations for the VON National office.  Most recently she has been a health care consultant working with organizations such as Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, Chatham Kent Health Alliance, Community Addiction & Mental Health Services of Haldimand/Norfolk, Central Community Care Access Centre, the Canadian Nurses Association, Health Canada.  She is presently the Executive Director of the CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses.

Sue has a Ph.D. from McMaster University, an MBA from McGill University and an M.A. from the University of Washington.  She is currently an Adjunct Professor/Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Sue was drawn to our organization after seeing the challenges faced by members of her own extended family living with autism.

“I am very impressed with the services, programs and innovative ideas that are being implemented for the persons supported by Kerry’s Place” stated Sue VanDeVelde-Coke. “Most of all, I look forward to working with the staff and persons supported, and together, building on the wonderful legacy and vision of the organization.“

Please join me in welcoming Sue to Kerry’s Place.  She will start on February 1, 2017.  We look forward to working with her as we continue toward our Vision - Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder are full and equal members of their communities.
