About the Role:
Reporting to Manager Services and Supports, the Labour Market Facilitator is responsible for and accountable for the successful delivery of the Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) initiative, creating meaningful and equitable employment opportunities for job seekers with an intellectual disability and or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Responsibilities may include:
- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place
- Implement strategies needed to expand recruitment and hiring of people with intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Conducting outreach to businesses to promote the value of inclusive hiring
- Outreach and partnership development with and between businesses and agencies at the provincial and community levels
- Develop and/or expand partnerships with community employment agencies to adequately meet hiring demand and ensure equitable access to hiring demand by both persons with an intellectual disability and persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Deliver presentations and information tools for business groups to promote the employment of people with an intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Be a representative at tables where businesses, stakeholders and other met to lead innovative approaches to how people with intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder can access employment
- Collect and document stories of successful hires
- Meet all reporting and documentation requirements of the national RWA program, including but not limited to completion of quarterly reporting and maintenance of client management data base
- Ensure the health and safety of supported persons in accordance to Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, and the Provincial and Municipal regulations and by-laws
- Support the team to ensure professional and thorough records are maintained and up to date for all persons being served
- Other duties as assigned
Education Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in human services
- Experience in building relationships with diverse groups and interests
- Experience in sales and/or marketing, an asset
- Experience working in a community development framework, an asset
- Experience in working on a large-scale project and collaborating virtually with team members
- Strong knowledge of the Developmental Services sector
- Knowledge of social media applications with related experience with education and awareness campaigns
- Knowledge of the issues and barriers faced by people with intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder in accessing the labour market
- Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and public speaking skills
- Superior written communication skills, excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of related legislation and regulations such as: Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, etc
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification, First Aid/CPR as well as perform the required physical techniques. Training will be provided at no cost
- Position requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- As a condition of employment, employees must be able to provide a Driver’s Abstract in good standing with fewer than three demerit points
