About the Role:
Reporting to the Director Services and Supports, the Property Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the resource management to provide efficient and effective provision of maintenance supports and services for the supported living department. Responsibilities may include:
- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place
- Adheres to employee responsibilities for Health & Safety as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations
- Assist the Management team with the development and execution of repairs and maintenance plans for sites
- Liaise with procurement to obtain vendor information, products and services
- Work collaboratively with the finance department vendor selection, budgeting, and processes regarding site purchases
- Support with setting and attending vendor appointments and/or consultations on-site as needed
- Coordinate facility maintenance and service contracts for all supported living sites as assigned
- Coordinate with Property Maintenance Workers on the scheduling and execution of repairs and maintenance
- In collaboration with the Manager, provide administrative support including scheduling and facilitating repairs and maintenance for the supported living sites as required
- Coordinate all minor and major capital projects including vendor selection and contacts, identifying tasks requiring completion, and scope of work and on site presence
- Support with organizational upkeep and tracking of documents relating to Quality Assurance Measures and Repairs and Maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring standards of Fire Safety, Building Code, Vehicle Maintenance including facilitating required inspections
- In collaboration with the Manager, facilitate maintenance supports within budget as directed.
- Ensure the efficient maintenance of supported living and properties as assigned
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, persons supported, and vendors
- Ensure the health and safety of supported persons in accordance to Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, and the Provincial and Municipal regulations and by-laws
- Support the Management team to ensure professional and thorough records are maintained and up to date for all sites
- Other duties as assigned
Education Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- 2 years related Property Maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of the Developmental Services sector is an asset
- Strong knowledge of maintenance and repairs. Trade certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems
- Working knowledge of related legislation and regulations such as Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, etc.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- French language is an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification, First Aid/CPR as well as perform the required physical techniques. Training will be provided at no cost
- Position requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Provide on-call coverage (which may include evenings, weekends and holidays)
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required and proof of third party liability insurance coverage
