The Kerry’s Place Community Recognition Award is designed to honour and celebrate individuals, organizations and/or partners who have made exceptional contributions toward enhancing the quality of life, inclusion, and opportunities for Autistic individuals in their communities.

Award Criteria

Nominees are evaluated on the following criteria, each reflecting the core values of Kerry’s Place:

  1. Respect: Demonstrates a commitment to celebrating diversity, supporting inclusion, and advancing the dignity and uniqueness of all persons.
  2. Choice: Empowers Autistic individuals by providing opportunities and supporting their right to make informed decisions.
  3. Integrity: Exhibits truthful, accountable, and ethical actions and relationships in all collaborations and initiatives.
  4. Collaboration: Engages in person-centered care and partnerships, seeking input and valuing diverse perspectives to enhance service delivery.
  5. Excellence: Strives for continuous learning and quality improvement, implementing innovative and evidence-based practices to support the Autism community.

  • Respect: Demonstrates a commitment to celebrating diversity, supporting inclusion, and advancing the dignity and uniqueness of all persons. Describe how the Nominee’s initiatives promote respect and inclusion within the community. Include specific examples of programs or actions that have advanced the dignity and uniqueness of Autistic individuals.

  • Choice: Empowers Autistic individuals by providing opportunities and supporting their right to make informed decisions. Explain how the Nominee facilitates choice and autonomy for Autistic individuals. Provide examples of how the organization supports informed decision-making and respects the preferences of those they serve.

  • Integrity: Exhibits truthful, accountable, and ethical actions and relationships in all collaborations and initiatives. Illustrate the Nominee’s adherence to ethical standards and accountability in their operations. Discuss how the organization maintains transparency and trustworthiness in its community engagements.

  • Collaboration: Engages in person-centered care and partnerships, seeking input and valuing diverse perspectives to enhance service delivery. Assess the nominee’s effectiveness in collaborating with stakeholders and incorporating diverse perspectives. Highlight partnerships or joint initiatives that have led to improved services for Autistic individuals.

  • Excellence: Strives for continuous learning and quality improvement, implementing innovative and evidence-based practices to support the Autism community. Evaluate the Nominee’s commitment to excellence through innovation and continuous improvement. Provide examples of evidence-based practices or programs the organization has implemented to support the ASD community.
