This hands-on 4-session youth consultation series is designed to enhance self-knowledge and develop self-advocacy skills in Autistic tweens and teens. Participants will learn about various components of self-advocacy including: understanding their strengths, motivators, and support needs.
Together we will explore communication, social, and sensory profiles, character strengths, neurodiversity, and self-advocacy tools. In the final session, group members will learn how to ‘put it all together’ to create a personal profile that they can use to advocate for their needs at school, in recreational activities, and in the community. Throughout the sessions, group members will engage in activities designed to promote a greater understanding of self and be encouraged to ‘exist loudly’.
