About the Role:

The Coordinator will provide support to the Human Resources Department by administrating matters relating to policies and procedures, employment changes and system requirements and for a variety of target groups to improve the overall effectiveness of the agency.  Responsibilities may include:

  • Follow established practices and provide support in line with the Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place
  • Reviews and adheres to all Policies and Procedures, including: Finance & Administration; Services & Supports; Human Resources; Health & Safety, and all other
  • Adheres to employee responsibilities for Health & Safety as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations
  • Work with the Human Resources team to create a welcoming and supportive environment for employees of Kerry’s Place, people supported and members of the public
  • Oversee HRIS activities, maintenance of HR documents, assist with developing system efficiencies and improving user experience
  • Maintain current knowledge of collective agreements ensuring the HRIS accurately reflects policies and processes
  • Process all new hire and employment changes through our Human Resources Information System (ADP)
  • Preparing LTD repayments and letters and other employee correspondence
  • Complete monthly reporting and data collection used to support Kerry’s Place workforce planning and quarterly board reports
  • Maintain current knowledge of all benefit programs, Human Resources policies and procedures, and general knowledge of Kerry’s Place and respond to internal and external HR related inquires or requests and provide assistance
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data in both paper and the HRIS and ensure all employment requirements are met
  • Participate in LEAN process improvement initiatives as they relate to compensation, total rewards and HR technologies
  • Assist in research assignments in various areas of Human Resources
  • Adherence to strict confidentiality standards in all activities
  • Be familiar with legislation and regulations related to Human Resources and assist employees to locate relevant documents
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team and other internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Provide back-up for other Human Resource functions including reception
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • 2 years relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of HR relevant legislations including the Employment Standards Act and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferably ADP
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written 
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills 
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated flexibility, innovation and creativity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Self-motivated and self-directed

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 

  • A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to travel to other regional offices as needed
