The Autism Advisory Committee (AAC) provides advice and input to Kerry’s Place Autism Services and acts as a resource for management in all aspects of person-directed community support and services.
The AAC’s purpose is to create a forum for autistic people to share experiences and recommendations in order to promote the highest quality of service and supports and to break down the barriers and stigma surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorder. The committee upholds Kerry’s Place’s values by demonstrating respect, championing choice, working with integrity, fostering teamwork and emphasizing continuous learning for supported persons.
There is an AAC for all of Kerry’s Place and one specific to the Durham Region.
The following commitments and guidelines govern the Autism Advisory Committee at Kerry’s Place.
