Standards and Best Practices at Kerry’s Place

Rights include basic protections and guarantees afforded to all citizens through the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, laws and systems of justice. People supported by Kerry’s Place Autism Services have the same rights as others. It is vital that we provide supports in preparing people to exercise rights responsibly. It is Kerry’s Place responsibility to ensure that people are safe and that other people’s rights are respected.

Kerry’s Place Autism Services has created the Standards and Best Practices Committee to review applications/queries regarding restrictions of rights in order to weigh risks, benefits and alternatives to interventions that are perceived as restrictive or intrusive. This committee shall act as an impartial third party with respect to concerns related to supports and services. Once an application is received and reviewed, further information may be requested by the committee prior to a meeting. Submit completed forms via email to quality@kerrysplace.org.
