About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the: leadership and supervision, quality outcomes for the persons we support and the quality assurance measures to provide efficient and effective provision of supports and services for persons diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Responsibilities may include:
- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place
- Ongoing adherence to all aspects of the Standards of Professional Conduct, as outlined by the College of Psychologists & Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
- The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Clinical Therapists and Clinical Technicians and/or direct support teams, providing ongoing supervision, training, leadership and mentoring. The Clinical Supervisor is available to provide supervised practice to employees pursuing registration as a Behaviour Analyst in Ontario
- Provide mentoring, coaching, training and performance management of employees and complete Performance Development Plans on an annual basis
- Keep current to all related legislative requirements such as: Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) etc.
- Responsible for fulfillment of the regional and provincial information and evaluation requirements for the program as mandated by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services
- Safeguards the health and safety of employees while designing and implementing behaviour interventions
- Review and approve programs, behaviour plans and protocols, and is responsible for ongoing monitoring of the design and delivery of plans/protocols that are consistent with Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures as well as the Ministry Policy Directives for adults with a challenging behaviour and/or the guidelines of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) as applicable
- Conduct functional behaviour assessments, including functional analysis, interpretation and summary of data and results
- Clinically accountable for the development, delivery and evaluation of plan processes, including opportunities for research. Conducts on site clinical supervision of direct service delivery and implementation of programs and behaviour plans
- Responsible for ongoing program evaluation and modifications as needed to programs and behaviour plans including signing off on plans and related documents
- May provide a range of evidence based ABA training and educational resources to families that include: workshops, written materials and coaching
- Provides family support and consultation to foster consistency across environments such as home, school, and community
- Collaborate with family to create individual programs and behaviour plans with measurable goals
- May carry an independent caseload as determined by the Director of Clinical Services
- Ensure the health and safety of persons supported in accordance to Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, Provincial and Municipal regulations and by-laws
- Other duties as assigned
Education Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Registered as a Behaviour Analyst Autonomous Practice with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario in good standing
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- 5 years of experience conducting comprehensive behaviour assessments, development of behaviour interventions and analysis of data
- 1 year people management including mentoring, coaching, training and development of staff preferred
- Experience overseeing implementation of programs and behaviour plans and evidence-based service delivery
- Clinical experience working with children, youth, and their families or adults in a community and/or supported living setting
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based treatment models and approaches and strong knowledge of the Development Services sector
- Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft systems
- Working knowledge of related legislation and regulations such as: Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, etc.
- Experience working as a professional within a clinical multidisciplinary team that follows a bio-psycho-social model of treatment and intervention is considered an asset
- French language is an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Position requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must have the ability to complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification, as well as perform the required physical techniques. Training will be provided at no cost
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle for frequent business travel is required and proof of third party liability insurance coverage
- Provide on-call coverage (which may include evenings, weekends and holidays) as applicable
