Hi. I’m Brittany. I would like to find work so I have an income, as well as have a purpose to fulfil.
Kerry’s Place Young Adults Project has helped me with viewing different types of jobs, volunteering opportunities and the skills necessary to get a job.
Currently, I am volunteering with an intergenerational program for a group of seniors from Montreal. This has been a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and provide online connections to seniors isolated during the COVID lockdowns. I have enjoyed having a purpose during the lockdowns and I have really enjoyed learning their perspectives on topics and just talking with them.
I am hoping in the future that I will be able to find paid employment and keep learning new skills. I would like to make a shout out to Roma for helping me find my volunteer opportunity and because she is a great ally and support.
