International Transgender Day of Remembrance

Thursday, November 20, 2025, will be the 26th annual International Transgender Day of Remembrance. This day memorializes the lives lost in acts of anti-transgender violence and encourages awareness of the continued violence endured by transgender people.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people – sometimes in the most brutal ways possible – it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.” – Gwendolyn Ann Smith, founder of TDOR.

We encourage you take a moment of silence when you are able.

Trans Day of Remembrance can be a challenging time for many. If you need help to navigate your feelings and grief, please email gisicommittee@kerrysplace.org.
