It’s rightfully said that gratitude sweetens even the smallest moments. Every year in October, Kerry’s Place holds its Outcomes Week, which is truly an ode to this sentiment. And our Outcomes Week 2023 was no different!
With the goal of honoring the accomplishments and successes of Kerry’s Place supported individuals, the Outcomes celebration was a week full of fun-filled events, joined by staff and family members of our supported individuals. A range of in-person and virtual events were held at our Toronto, York, Durham, Hastings and Central locations. From a prom-themed party where everyone dressed up in their best formal outfits to our Halloween virtual gathering where the spookiest ghosts and goblins made an appearance – the Outcomes celebration was a mix of shared stories, laughter, and a lot of dancing! The highlight was the small and big wins that were shared by our supported individuals. Visiting the aquarium, becoming a bee-keeper, getting their Masters in Biology, attending a high tea – Kerry’s Place supported individuals shared their best stories of accomplishing a goal they had set out for themselves at the start of the year.

Talking about the celebrations, Krista Richards, Director of Clinical Services, said “It is an important week for all here at Kerry’s Place. We each take a pause out of our busy days and come together throughout the week to acknowledge all the successes, and the hard work it takes to reach those successes, by our individuals… and of course, have some fun!!!”
Outcomes Week 2023 was truly a testament to our vision and mission – to move closer every day to a reality where persons with autism are full and equal members of our society. We hope to continue creating and sharing opportunities and avenues that bring about this transformation.
